ELEVATE believes in healing through movement and a mind/body connection to establish a greater sense of being balanced, grounded, and at peace. We incorporate the following practices in all of our treatment programs.
Nutrition – At ELEVATE we provide far more than a private chef on staff. We provide an education. During periods of addiction many people develop poor nutritional habits, and in some cases more severe health issues. We help people understand the relationship between nutrition and substance abuse, and the secrets to correction.
Trauma Informed Yoga – This is the practice of creating a safe, supportive space in which individuals can learn emotional regulation skills through their connection with their breath, increased body awareness, and more specifically their nervous system. When this connection is established we can reach our full potential, and experience growth.
Meditation – This is the practice where an individual uses mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity. The focus then shifts to developing the ability to see what we are attached to, so we can let it go and heal.
Grounding Work – This is the practice of teaching techniques that “ground” you to the environment around you. This is particularly helpful for individuals who suffer from myriad of uncomfortable sensations from trauma, anxiety or depression.
Breath work – This is the practice of developing a breathing technique to assist in processing trauma, developing healthier thought patterns, and creating a positive perspective. This practice is effective in helping individuals with mindfulness, and bypassing suppressed emotions.
These practices can significantly DECREASE symptoms of withdrawal, anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, and risk of relapse.
And significantly INCREASE concentration, mood, creativity, focus, flexibility, and academic performance.
